Game Introduction

You play a superhero called Sonic Blast Man. There are five different stages to choose from:
  • save a woman in distress from a vicious hoodlum
  • save a baby in a carriage from being hit by a speeding semi-truck
  • save a city from enemy attacks by destroying the enemy fortress
  • save a cruise ship from a giant crab
  • save the Earth from a shooting meteor.
Choose one of the five stages and begin play.

Speech: 'Thank you, super Sonic Blast Man!', 'Ahh! Help Me!', 'Take That!'.

Game Play

After the target appears and the punch pad has risen completely, begin straight-punching in the middle of the pad as hard as you can.

You are allowed three punches for each game. When the score in the upper right of the screen shows the remaining target resistance as zero, you have knocked out your opponent.

If you succeed in defeating your opponent with three punches, there will be a winning ending. If not, there will be a losing ending. The game ends after three punches, regardless of the results.

Trivia

Taito lost a class action suit for 50,000 to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission CPSC because of injuries sustained by players of ISonic Blast ManI. The CPSC alleges that between 1991 and 1994, Taito failed to report about 70 cases in which young players fractured or injured wrists and arms as a result of hitting the Blast Mans punching pad.
